I'm a proud alumnus of McGill University, a prestigious institution in North America, where I completed my graduate studies. My passion for understanding the human mind led me to pursue not one but two undergraduate degrees - an Honours in Psychology and a B.A. in Justice Studies. This diverse educational background has equipped me with a broad perspective on human behavior and its connection to the justice system.
Currently, I have the privilege of working with Carbon Psychology, a group private practice, and the Montreal Center for Anxiety and Depression. In these roles, I focus on general assessment and interventions, helping a wide range of individuals from the general population navigate the complexities of their mental well-being.
My journey to becoming a psychologist took an interesting turn. Initially, I aspired to pursue a career in policing, and I even earned a bachelor's degree in Justice Studies in 2015. However, life had other plans for me. I spent time as a youth care worker at an emergency receiving unit in Ranch Ehrlo, where I provided crucial crisis intervention management and behavioral skills training to disadvantaged and marginalized youth. Later, I served as a correctional officer at the Regina Provincial Correctional Center, gaining invaluable insights into the human psyche in the criminal justice system.
My vision in the field of psychology is clear and heartfelt. I aspire to make a positive impact on men's mental health, provide support to first responders who face trauma, and offer guidance to ethnic/racial minorities who grapple with cultural conflict and stigma. My ultimate goal is to be a catalyst for a cultural shift, helping men, ethnic/racial minorities, first responders, and individuals from all walks of life to view mental health and therapy with greater openness and understanding. Together, let's embark on this journey toward mental well-being and societal transformation.
I'm an advocate for setting and achieving goals that align with one's values. Just as I guide my clients towards their aspirations, I'm always exploring ways to tackle my own goals tied to my values. It's a journey that never ends.
In 2017, I ventured into the world of powerlifting, pushing my physical and mental limits in a competition that demanded both strength and resilience. Two years later, I conquered a full marathon, covering the grueling 42.2 kilometers—a true test of endurance.
Recently, I embarked on a remarkable adventure, scaling the majestic Mount Fuji. The experience was not just a physical conquest but a testament to the power of determination and perseverance. And rest assured, there's always another horizon on the horizon.
Beyond my professional life, I'm an enthusiast of various interests. Basketball and the NBA hold a special place in my heart. I also dedicate time to hypertrophy training to stay physically fit and occasionally engage in tennis and boxing for an extra dash of fun in my spare moments.
By sharing these aspects of my life, I aim to connect with you on a personal level. Just as I strive for personal growth, I'm here to support you on your journey towards improved mental well-being. Together, let's explore the possibilities of self-discovery and resilience.
